ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR AUGUST 23, 2026

Pastor Dean is on vacation today. Mike Denman will be in the pulpit. Pastor Amy Kinney [(419) 619-0638] is providing pastoral care coverage.

On September 13th, April Ramsey-Bertz will be providing our worship music for the first time since the pandemic.

Our next Men’s Breakfast will be September 12th (the 5th is Labor Day weekend) at Billy’s Restaurant in Fremont.

Please see the signup sheet on the Narthex bulletin board for our lawn maintenance schedule.

We have recently become aware that we may not have a complete list of birthdays and anniversaries of our regular attenders. In an attempt to create a church-wide list of everyone’s birthdays to be used in the weekly bulletins, we’ve created cards for you to pick up at the entrance to the sanctuary. Please write the names and as well as the month and year of these important dates for yourself and your immediate family members. Please place the completed cards in the offering “church.” Thank you!

Our church is required to replace two members on the administrative board at the beginning of 2027. This does not require a particular skillset but merely a devotion of some time and is an excellent way to serve your church. Everyone who attends is considered a member of our local congregation. If you have any questions or are interested in serving in this capacity, please let Pastor Dean or a current member of the board know. Current members are Bob Manz, Morgan Johnson, Shelby Lopez, Helen Emerine, Carol Reisner or Marcia Abbott.

ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR AUGUST 16, 2026

Pastor Dean will be on vacation from August 17-23. Mike Denman will be in the pulpit on Sunday, August 23rd. Pastor Amy Kinney [(419) 619-0638] will be providing pastoral care coverage but will not be available on Wednesday & Thursday as she will be attending a conference in Columbus.

The church parking lot is scheduled to be sealed this Tuesday, August 18th.

All are invited to join our St. John’s UCC (Fostoria) brothers and sisters at their annual picnic on Saturday, August 22nd, at 5:00 pm. Please bring a lawn chair, a healthy appetite, and enjoy the food as well as music from Echoes of Grace starting at 6:00 pm.

Please join Pastor Dean and the men of the church, for breakfast at Billy’s Restaurant in Fremont for our September get together (the 5th is Labor Day weekend).

JOYS: Marge Reinhard (Nick’s grandmother) was released from St. Rita’s Hospital on Tuesday but needs our prayers as she continues to deal with bleeding from an internal hemorrhoid; Heather Kreh passed her motorcycle safety class and has received her license; preliminary results for Bob Manz’s cataract surgery this past Wednesday are positive; Lori Zimmerman’s endometriosis procedure this past Monday (August 10th) came back with positive results; George Miller’s rash has healed; and we have a Heavenly Father that loves us, a Savior that redeems us, and the Holy Spirit that strengthens us.

CONCERNS: CONCERNS: The family of Joyce Mulholland who passed away Friday, August 7th; the family of Ray Stull who passed away Saturday, August 15th; our brothers & sisters-in-Christ at Hopewell Church of God who are searching for a new pastor as Reverend Bob Greene has informed them that he will be retiring; Danny Pelton did not pass his latest swallowing test but continues his exercises as he receives his nutrition by a feeding tube plus has been diagnosed with pneumonia; Ed Smith’s latest hearing aids did not provide any improvement so he has scheduled a three-hour test in Perrysburg for possible cochlear implants on September 10th; Adilayah (Adi) Davis will be undergoing adenoid and tonsil removal surgery as well as bronchoscopy (a medical device that lets doctors look into your lungs and airways) on August 26th (please note that Adi also had tracheomalacia [windpipe collapse], oral dysphasia [problems with chewing food], & feeding disability [issues with nutrient intake]; Tim Heiserman will be having a revision (second) right hip replacement on Thursday, September 3rd, in New Albany; Nikki Vitt is again experiencing severe leg pain;  Cheryl McDaniel as she continues to deal with the passing of her husband as well as her sense of loss after stepping away from the pastor role at New Beginnings Church and for the new pastor, Marvin McAfee, as he assumes spiritual leadership, guidance, and care of the congregation; Pam Dunson & Danene Durant are working with their respective teams as they prepare for cataract surgery.
