ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR JANUARY 18, 2026

You have been heard! Large print copies of the current Upper Room have been ordered and should be here soon. We also have returned to the order quantities that we had been receiving.

The Church will be making subs on Saturday, February 7th, beginning at 9:30 am in the church basement – weather permitting. Order sheets are due next Sunday. Questions see Ron Lutz (419) 448-8675.

As we will be making subs on the first Saturday in February, our next Men’s Breakfast will be February 14th at GW’s Fine Foods in Tiffin. Our March breakfast will be on the 7th at Fostoria Dell’s.

Our congregation has been invited to attend Pastor Amy Kinney’s (St. John’s UCC) Ordination Celebration on Sunday, February 1st. Please see the invitation on the narthex bulletin board.

Our next Administrative Board meeting is Tuesday, February 10th at 6:00 p.m. Board members are Marcia Abbott (Acting Chair), Bob Manz, Shelby Lopez, Morgan Johnson, Carol Reisner, and Helen Emerine. During our first meeting we will need to nominate and approve the Chairperson for 2026.

Pastor Dean has begun leading the RightNow Media study “Apologetics” (the defense or proof of Christianity) by Chad Ragsdale. We will be digging into the second lesson next Sunday, January 25th. So, it is not too late to catch up.

Don Asselin has been transferred to the Shepherd Wing at Good Shepherd Home.

Pastor Dean began leading a ten-week study on apologetics (the defense or proof of Christianity using rational logic) last week with an introduction. Why you may ask??
• Apologetics is crucial for defending the Christian faith, engaging with skeptics, and providing a rational basis for belief, fostering deeper understanding and dialogue within and outside the faith community. Please consider joining our 9:30 Sunday School class Sunday for what should be a lively and educational discussion of what we believe and why.

JOYS: Jeanne VanBuskirk says “Hello” and is having a great time on her road trip with her brother Jerry and we have a Heavenly Father that loves us, a Savior that redeems us, and the Holy Spirit that strengthens us.

CONCERNS: Crystal Hester continues to work with her medical team to address multiple medical issues: her intra-cranial pressure remains high enough that a second shunt may need to be inserted, pneumonia, and heart palpitations; Tim Heiserman had a hip MRI this past Friday (the 16th) as he continues to work with his medical team to determine the cause of ongoing severe pain since his replacement a year ago; Judy Prosser will be consulting with her medical team this coming Wednesday, the 21st, concerning the biopsies on her pelvic masses; Mike Prosser will also be consulting with his medical team on the 21st regarding his stress test and cardiogram results; Ann Zimmerman will be meeting with her medical team on February 2nd with a follow-up esophagogram on the 4th; and Pastor Dean pulled his left hamstring and calf on Monday.
