ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR FEBRUARY 1, 2026

The large print copies of the current Upper Room have been received and placed on the table outside the sanctuary. Thank you for your patience and we have returned to the order quantities that we had been receiving.

The Church will be making subs this coming Saturday, February 7th, beginning at 9:30 am in the church basement – weather permitting. All hands are welcome … even if you did not sign up!!!! Hopefully you have already gotten your orders to Ron Lutz [(419) 618-6022 or at rlutz8@woh.rr.com].

As we will be making subs on the first Saturday in February, our next Men’s Breakfast will be February 14th at GW’s Fine Foods in Tiffin. Our March breakfast will be on the 7th at Fostoria Dell’s.

Dorothy Finney has moved into assisted living. Let’s surprise her with a card party! ADDRESS: 4250 Lakeland Highlands Rd Apt. 309, Lakeland, FL 33813.

Our congregation has been invited to attend Pastor Amy Kinney’s (St. John’s UCC) Ordination Celebration this afternoon at 3:00 pm. Please see the invitation on the narthex bulletin board.

Our next Administrative Board meeting is Tuesday, February 10th at 6:00 p.m. Board members are Marcia Abbott (Acting Chair), Bob Manz, Shelby Lopez, Morgan Johnson, Carol Reisner, and Helen Emerine. During our first meeting we will need to nominate and approve the Chairperson for 2026.

Pastor Dean has begun leading the RightNow Media study “Apologetics” (the defense or proof of Christianity) by Chad Ragsdale. We will continue digging into the lessons next Sunday when we resume our worship service. It is only the second lesson in the ten-week series so it is not to late to catch up.

You may pick up your 2025 offering totals outside the sanctuary if you haven’t already done so.

Our 2026 Ecumenical Lent worship schedule is:

• Ash Wednesday (February 18th) at 7:00 pm with Pastor Bob Greene providing the message at Bascom Community Church. Pastors Amy Kinney, Dean Durant, and Bob will all participate in the Imposition of Ashes for those wishing to receive them.
•  Maundy (Holy) Thursday (April 2nd) at 7:00 pm with Pastor Dean providing the message at Hopewell Church of God. This service includes a Hand-Washing Service for those who wish to participate.
• Good Friday (April 3rd) at 2:00 pm with a Tenebrae service at St. John’s UCC, concluding with an open table sharing of the elements of Holy Communion.

Due to our “Super Sub” Fundraiser, we will be having our monthly breakfast on the second Saturday in February instead of the first. Please join Pastor Dean and the men of the church at GW’s Fine Food in Tiffin @ 9:00 a.m.

JOYS: Memphis Depinet has been removed from all monitoring of his breathing during sleep; Heather Kreh made the Dean’s List; Briar Shaver received an “Excellent” in her solo ensemble (saxophone); Mike Prosser’s echocardiogram results showed no change from last year’s; Carol Reisner’s echocardiogram and stress both came back with good results; Pastor Dean (Durant) has nearly returned to full mobility after pulling his hamstring three weeks ago; Chad Spangler is Mennel Milling’s January 2026 Top Cookie Honoree!; and we have a Heavenly Father that loves us, a Savior that redeems us, and the Holy Spirit that strengthens us.

CONCERNS: Judy Prosser is scheduled for a laser radiation treatment on February 10th for her pelvic bone cancer.; Angie Rohlen’s friend Courtney Courtney passed away on January 21st after being in a coma for the past two years leaving behind three children; although it has improved slightly, Juanita Yambert continues to work with her medical team to determine the cause and treatment plan for severe back pain; Tim Heiserman has been diagnosed with a muscle tear in his hip and will continue to work with his medical team; Pam Dunson’s Aunt Beverly Wheatley (98 years old) recently received the diagnosis that she has two brain tumors; the family of Easton Stefanka (child of Kalynn & Robert) who passed away unexpectedly on January 20th at seven years of age (Kalynn  is a friend of Carol Reisner); and Ann Zimmerman’s esophagoscopy has been rescheduled for March 6th with her appointment for additional testing still scheduled for tomorrow (Monday) morning.
